POWERCOLOR INTRODUCES SLINGIT

SlingIt breaks the rules on how you view entertainment and brings an incredible HD experience

Taipei, Taiwan – October 25 2011 – PowerColor, a TUL brand leading graphics card supplier, announced today a new multimedia solution, SlingIt, designed to centralize and distribute entertainment content wirelessly to multiple devices inside your home. SlingIt creates a gateway for wireless entertainment, by offering a pair of devices that build a bridge across multi-rooms.
SlingIt is a Wireless Home Digital Interface (WHDI) standard product, ensuring that users are able to enjoy full 1080p HD video from any device with a High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) connection on HDTV without noticeable latency. SlingIt powered by WHDI allows users to plug and play and then beam digital HD content such as games, Internet video, show photos etc. on to high-definition television.

SlingIt also supports Human Interface devices (HID), such as wireless mouse and keyboards. Users can control content from the PC without getting up to go to the desk. With IR support, SlingIt allows users to access the PC content without the device nearby.

The interface design of SlingIt is very user-friendly, there’s no need for driver installation. All you need to do is plug the cable into your HDMI device, then SlingIt will operate automatically without any effort.

“The consumer electronic market has been missing a way to wirelessly connect devices to the television to access all content,” said TUL CEO, Ted Chen. “SlingIt brings a user-friendly way to bring all your content to one place and with WHDI powering it there is no need for installation and consumers are able to plug it in and start enjoying high-quality HD entertainment from any device.”

“Our work with Powercolor demonstrates that WHDI technology is the only viable way to wirelessly connect any video source with the HDTV, while maintaining a high quality picture,” said Leslie Chard, WHDI president. “This technology is changing the way consumers view HD content as the new standard for centralizing entertainment in the home.”
